NORTH MIAMI, Fla. --- Biola swim and dive changed the pace a bit on Sunday. The men's and women's programs traveled across the country to take part in an open water competition in Florida. The teams swam in the salt water of Biscayne Bay for a 5k race at the CSCAA College Open Water National Championships.

The BU men's squad sent seven competitors, tallying 10th place in a field of 15 teams. A mix of schools across all divisions came out, as Cincinnati took the team crown with Northwestern following in second place.

Another top-50 finisher came from the swim of Patrick Waggoner. The redshirt junior cut through the waves for a time of 1:00:03.56, which was good enough for 48th place. Donatus Onu also scored for Biola in 58th place. Onu came in a minute behind his teammate at 1:01:07.29.

Tanner Smith, Colin Snyder, Dylan Pon, and Sean Rho also took to the open waters on Sunday.
