Box Score
DENVER, Colo. --- For the first time in Denver, Colorado Biola Softball finds itself needing to bounce back. West Texas A&M hit three home runs in the second game of the NCAA Division II Championship series to beat Biola 7-4 and even the three-game set.

Biola out-hit the Lady Buffs (11-7), and still haven't been out-hit by their opponents at this tournament. However, the Eagles stranded six runners on base against two different West Texas A&M pitchers.

It was a thrilling start to the game as Raylene Roybal got the start for BU against Halle Lytal. The Eagles were the visitors in this one and got a one-out double from Jennifer Morinishi to threaten right away in the first inning, but were unable to get her around.

After Roybal induced two strikeouts and a weak groundout in the WTAMU half of the first, the Lady Buffs found a way to strike in the second inning when Madison Johnson hit a two-out solo homerun to put up West Texas A&M's first run of the championship series.

Facing a deficit for the first time all tournament, the Eagles did not flinch, but rather rose to the occasion and answered back with two runs immediately.

That quick comeback was instigated by back-to-back-to-back singles from its one, two and three hitters. Ruth Munoz touched home plate as the game-tying run on an Abie Nowak single. Two batters later, Jennifer Morinishi put BU back on top when she made her way home on a Roybal RBI groundout.

Nowak had a whale of a game in the loss, going 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI.

The game held until the bottom of the fourth inning when the West Texas A&M bats woke up with a vengeance. The first three batters had highs and lows as Roybal issued a walk, got a strikeout and then plunked a batter. The next batter hit a three-run homerun to put the Lady Buffs back in control.

A two-out big fly later in the inning turned out to be the difference maker in the game as West Texas A&M earned enough advantage to withstand a seventh-inning two-run rally from BU and leave the game finished at 7-4.

The two teams will decide the national championship on Tuesday morning at the Assembly Athletic Complex at 9 a.m. PT. Follow the game live at https://www.ncaa.com/game/5843673.
