SPOKANE, Wash. --- Head Coach David Goodman added another promising member to his Women's Tennis recruiting class with the signing of Brooke Fager from Spokane, Washington.
Biola's excellent nursing program and strong Christian community drew Fager to the University when she started narrowing down her college choices after her junior year at Lewis and Clark High School. Fager made her official commitment to the Biola Women's Tennis program this past November, adding another accomplishment to a very eventful 2018 for the Spokane, Washington-native.
During this past calendar year, Fager posted multiple wins against opponents ranked in the top-250 nationally by Tennis Recruiting Network and qualified for the National Clay Court Championships this past July in South Carolina. Fager's success throughout the year helped hear lift her UTR to 9 and made the No. 5 recruit coming out of Washington for the class of 2019.
Prior to her play around the country's junior circuit in 2018, Fager was a force for Lewis and Clark High, where she and brother Kyle Fager won District 4A titles in singles in 2017. Brooke was named the Greater Spokane League MVP after her 2017 season and eventually placed seventh in the State singles championship. By the time Fager completed her time on the Tigers' tennis team, she went undefeated in singles play at the league, district and regional level and earned a state title in doubles in 2016.
On top of all that, Fager balanced a strong commitment to her academics and will come to Biola having taken multiple AP classes. Fager is a two-time recipient of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Outstanding Scholastic Award and was nominated for the Executive Women International Scholarship after appearing on the honor roll throughout high school.
Fager intends to study in Biola's "top-ranked" nursing program and hopes to care for children in emergency medical situations. She enjoys expressing her creativity through art and drawing and expressed her excitement about attending a University that offers her a place to belong and grow:
"I chose Biola because of its strong Christian community, excellent nursing program, and the feeling of joy I had when I was on campus," said Fager. "I am especially excited to be part of a team, competing beside other believers, and working with an awesome coach like Coach Goodman."
Fager will join her new team and begin classes at Biola this coming Fall. More information about other incoming student-athletes can be found on the
Committed Athletes page.
