ST GEORGE, Utah --- Biola held what appeared to be a solid two-goal lead with just 15 minutes remaining in the game, but Dixie State College scored a pair of late goals and the Eagles had to settle for a 2-2 draw in a non-conference match on Tuesday night.

Biola moves to 5-1-2 on the season with its second-straight draw while the Red Storm also earns its second tie to finish the day at 3-2-2.

Biola got on the board early with a goal in the 18th minute thanks to a Dixie State miscue. The Red Storm allowed an own goal early in the contest and the score held up through the rest of the first half.

In the second half, Biola was able to get a goal in the 65th minute to go up 2-0. Daniel Chew knocked home a rebound off a shot by Cody Shelton to give the Eagles the two-goal advantage.

However, as the adage in soccer goes, the two-goal lead is the most dangerous. Dixie State would capitalize on the adage with a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes of the contest.

The first came in the 75th minute as Nyle Ortiz got the Red Storm on the board with a goal. He was able to send in a shot of the left side of the goal and in from 18 yards out.

Nine minutes later, Tyler Albretsen scored off a corner to tie the game in the 84th minute to tie things up.

In overtime, Biola had the first chance as Marco Ruvalcaba fired a shot on goal only to see a great save by Billy Segal to keep it level.

The story was the same in the second overtime as two early scoring chances by the Eagles were thwarted by the Red Storm goalie, who made six saves in the contest.

Biola returns to Southern California to open GSAC play on Saturday, traveling to Irvine to face Concordia University at Noon.
