SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Down a man for the final 30 minute of the match, Biola scored three times including twice in the final seven minutes of regulation, fighting back to force overtime. However, Westmont College was able to score in the first minute of the second overtime to pull out a 4-3 win in a GSAC match on Wednesday afternoon.

The loss is the third-straight for the Eagles, who fall to 7-5-2 and to 2-4-0 in GSAC play. The Warriors improve to 3-8-1 on the season and  move ahead of Biola in the conference standings with a 2-3-1 GSAC record.

The match started out rather quietly with just one goal being scored in the first half. That came from Westmont, which went up early on a goal by Sebastian Kent in the 18th minute.

Biola peppered the Westmont net--outshooting the Warriors 9-4 in the first half--but could not find the back of the net through the first 45 minutes.

Things changed drastically in the second half as a red card and three goals came within a five-minute span around the 65th minute. Biola suffered the red card in the 64th minute as Alex Kincade received his second yellow card in 12 minutes and was sent off, leaving the Eagles with just 10 men.

However, despite the setback, Biola scored its first goal just 26 seconds later as Zach Bautista hit the post with an initial shot, then tapped home the rebound to tie the match at 1-1.

But Westmont responded quickly with two goals over the next four minutes to take a commanding 3-1 lead with around 20 minutes left in the contest.

Biola fired away at the net and pulled to within one goal in the 84th minute as Cody Shelton sent in a shot from the right side which beat the keeper. The Eagles continued to press and with less than one minute remaining, the Warriors were called for a handball in the box, giving Biola a penalty kick. Shelton took charge and stepped up to take the spot kick, sending it low and into the goal with just 47 seconds left to tie the game.

After a scoreless first overtime session, the Warriors were able to get the win as Doug Harrell tapped home the winning goal 57 seconds into the second overtime off a perfectly placed corner kick.

The Warriors walked away with the win despite being outshot by the Eagles 28-11. The Biola loss in Santa Barbara was just the second in the last five trips and the first loss to the Warriors overall since 2007.

The Eagles look to snap their losing streak on Saturday, traveling to San Diego to face off against Point Loma Nazarene University in a GSAC match at 3:00 p.m.
