LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Senior Spencer Foster scored 25 points and had seven rebounds as Biola crushed Hope International 95-46 Tuesday night in a GSAC men's basketball game at Chase Gymnasium.
The Eagles, who improve to 5-1 and 1-1 in GSAC play, used a three-point first half barrage to break open a close game en route to their biggest victory on the young season. The Royals, who shot just 31 percent from the field, drop to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
Foster, who missed the Eagles' 138-105 victory over the University of Redlands on Saturday due to food poisoning, was 8-for-10 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in his return. He also had a pair of steals and two assists in his 22 minutes.
The two teams kept things close for the first nine minutes of the game and Hope pulled to within four at 17-13 on a three-pointer by Pablo Lockhart with 11:15 remaining. However, the Royals would score just two more times in the half as Biola went on a 31-5 run to end the half.
The second half was more of the same for the Eagles. After letting hope close the gap to 61-32, Biola pulled away with a 13-3 run and cruised to the victory.
Biola's three-point shooting led the way as the Eagles hit 10-of-19 from beyond the arc. Hope, on the other hand, was just 7-for-34 from three-point range.
In addition to Foster's big game, Kevin Cook had a season-high 14 points and added six rebounds and four assists. Also getting into the act was freshman Rocky Hampton, who scored 12 points and had six boards.
Biola has now scored 233 points in its last two games including 138 on Saturday night against the run-and-gun University of Redlands. The Eagles are also shooting nearly 67-percent from the field and 50-percent from beyond the arc. That is not far off their overall season mark of 57-percent shooting.
Biola looks to continue its winning ways on Thursday (Nov. 30) as the Eagles travel to face Point Loma Nazarene in a GSAC game at 7:30 p.m.
