Mike Kurtz led Biola to back-to-back wins during the week of New Year's. He ended 2014 on a good note, averaging 13 points-per-game in the Eagles' home wins over UC Merced and Pacific Union College.
The senior played somewhat limited minutes in Biola's blowout win over UC Merced on Tuesday, but he was an absolute beast on the boards, compiling a game-high 13 rebounds to go with a game-high nine points. He also had his second-best individual blocking performance of the season with four swats.
The next game was a little more offensive-focused for the Eagles' seven-footer, as he ended with 16 points and 11 rebounds to post his seventh double-double of the season, but his first since a six-game streak of double-doubles between Nov. 11-25.
He and Biola now have a 13-3 overall record, but a challenging week including a road game at No. 1 CSU San Marcos and a home game with undefeated No. 3 Hope International.
