Gabe Plendcio took home Biola Athlete of the Week honors for the week of April 8 by performing well in both events he competed in at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. 

The sophomore sensation ran the 800m and 1500m at the invite hosted by the Sagehens and set personal-bests in both events. He was also recognized as the male track & field runner of the week by the National Christian College Athletics Association (for the second week in a row).

Plendcio finished 10th in the 1,500m by running it under four minutes with a career-best time of 3:56.61. He's got the second-best time in all of the NCCAA and is in the top-75 in NCAA Division II in that event.

He placed 28th in a field of over 100 in the 800m race. It was just his first time running that event this season and his time of 1:57.93 is good enough to put him in the top-15 in the NCCAA.

Plendcio and the Eagles have a busy weekend ahead of them as they are set to compete at the Cerritos Invitational and UC San Diego Triton Invitational during the second-to-last week of the regular season.
