BIOLA UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Chase Gymnasium
Built in 1962, Richard Chase Gymnasium is the home to Biola volleyball and the men and women's basketball teams. The gym was remodeled in 2004, adding an upstairs seating section behind the west backboard, expanding the lobby and creating new offices for the athletic department. The gym floor was revamped in the summer of 2012, adding new logos and markings to keep the gymnasium up to date. Chase Gymnasium holds 2,400 fans for basketball and 1,400 fans for volleyball.
Al Barbour Field
Al Barbour Field is one of the most unique athletic facilities in Southern California, featuring a synthetic turf field for soccer, and practice track and field facilities built over a 500+ space parking garage. The field features a scoreboard, lights and seating for 500 fans with ample room for up to 1,000 fans to stand and watch the activities. Al Barbour Field is home to the Biola men and women's soccer teams and the track and field teams.
Eagles Diamond
Eagles Diamond is home of the Biola baseball team. Built in the early 1970s, the facility features stadium seating for 125, batting cages, full bullpens, a press box area and an electronic scoreboard. The field surface and dugouts were updated in the summer of 2013, including new grass and dirt and a new paint job on the dugouts and grandstands.
Freedom Field
The Biola softball team calls Freedom Field its home. The facility, located in the southwest corner of campus, is currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation to make the faciliity among the best softball field surfaces in Southern Califfornia. The first phase, including dugouts, a team room, bullpens, backstops, fencing and graphics is complete, with funding and construction ongoing.
Lansing Aquatic Center
The Lansing Aquatic Center is the home of Biola's men and women's swimming and diving teams. Located just south of Chase Gymnasium, the swim facility features seven lanes and 1m and 3m diving boards. In 2011, the pool underwent a facelift to completely renovate the the pool floor and renovate the deck. Varsity swim meets are held at the Lansing Aquatic Center and also at the Splash! Aquatics Center across La Mirada Blvd. from the university.
Biola Tennis Center
Home of the Biola men and women's tennis teams, the Biola Tennis Center became Biola's first on-campus varsity courts with its completion in 2005. The eight-court facility features lighted courts, and a clubhouse for each varsity team. The tennis center is located in the southwest corner of the Biola campus, accessible from Biola Avenue.
