LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Colie Martin was named PacWest Defender of the Week on Monday for her work in the Eagles' two shutout wins last week.

The Biola defense has held opponents scoreless for 200-consecutive minutes after posting 2-0 victories over Hawai'i Pacific and Chaminade. Martin played every minute in both shutouts and impressed with the success she had in the offensive third. The sophomore outside back assisted a Samantha Verduzco goal on Wednesday against Hawai'i Pacific and then scored the first collegiate goal of her career early on in Saturday's victory over Chaminade.

"Colie has just started to gain more and more confidence each game," said Head Coach Erin Brunelle. "She has been able to put the opposition on their heels by continually getting forward and she has amazing stamina and workrate to get up and down the line all game long. [The left side] is a brand new position for her that she's been able to grow into this season and so this is a great recognition for her hard work over the past year."

Martin and the Eagles matchup with another Hawai'i school on Monday. Biola kicks off with the Hawai'i-Hilo Vulcans at 4:00 p.m.
