BURBANK, Calif.—As an elite pole-vaulter graduates and leaves the Biola Track & Field program, an incoming freshman looks to take her place. Sarah Prystupa is committed to joining Head Coach Sean Henning and the Eagles this fall and making an impact in the spring.
 
Prystupa attended John Burroughs High School where she was a four-time league champion and a finalist in the state championship. She made her mark on history at John Burroughs as she broke the school's record for pole vault.
 
"We are so happy to add Sarah to the Biola Track and Field family next year," said coach Henning. "Sarah comes from a very supportive Christian family and I think she will fit in very well with the mission of Biola and in our team dynamic. She has had tremendous success in high school and will make an immediate impact at the national level. Her personal best of 12'3'' is a half-inch off of our school record, which was set by All-American Nicole Falkenstein last year."
 
Prystupa is not only a leader on the track, but she is a leader in the classroom and community as well. She has proven that she loves to give back to her community as she accumulated more than 100 hours of community service in high school. She is excited to come to La Mirada and make her impact on the surrounding area.
 
"I chose Biola because of all of the awesome opportunities the school and community offers," said Pryusta.
 
Pryusta already has a personal connection to Biola University, as her uncle is Mark Pichaj, a chemistry professor on campus. She is undecided on her major.
