FRESNO, Calif. --- For the second season in a row Biola Volleyball brings in a transfer from a NCAA Division I institution. Sabrina Winslow joins the Eagles after spending the last season with the Fresno State Bulldogs.
 
Winslow is a Fresno native who went to Clovis North High School and played four varsity seasons at outside hitter with the Broncos before her single semester at Fresno State.
 
During her time as a Bulldog FSU went 14-18 and Winslow accumulated 98 kills in 63 sets played. She had a positive hitting percentage, accumulated almost a dig-per-set and was named a scholar-athlete during her freshman season.
 
"Sabrina was a someone we initially looked at during her sophomore year of high school," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She committed early to Fresno State, so she kind of dropped out of the running even though we really liked her."
 
At Clovis North she helped build the program from a No. 230 state ranking from MaxPreps during her freshman season to a No. 39 ranking as a senior.
 
She was well honored during her time as a Bronco, including the notable recognition of being a Central Valley All-Star. Her senior season was especially outstanding as she accumulated 296 kills, hit .242 and recorded 175 assists.
 
Those stats helped her earn the recognition as the team's offensive MVP and an offensive excellence award. She also stood out enough to earn all-tournament, all-league and all-conference awards.
 
"She's been a big surprise. We didn't expect her to be coming back," said Seltzer. "When she walked on campus it was a big win for us. She is going to help give us a lot of depth at that position."
 
Winslow is a business major who plans to open her own bakery later in her life. Following her time at Biola she hopes to enter into culinary school.
 
"I chose Biola to experience a different atmosphere away from home and be surrounded by encouraging people to help me grow and express my relationship with the Lord," said Winslow.
