Cary, N.C. --- Stephanie Jewett will travel a long distance to get here, but once she arrives she will surely make an immediate impact on Head Coach Aaron Seltzer's Biola Volleyball program. Jewett is currently a senior at Panther Creek High School in North Carolina, where she spent three years on varsity with the Catamount. She is a right side hitter whose left arm landed her with an all-conference honorable mention award and a spot on the Carolina Region All-Tournament team.
Â
"I could not be happier that Stephanie is joining us for the upcoming season," said Seltzer. "I think she is a perfect fit for Biola and brings a great set of skills with her. All of us feel she has a great ceiling and we are excited to see her grow.
Â
Jewett led the Catamount to 19 wins over her three seasons on varsity, including 13 wins in conference play. While contributing on the court she also excelled off the court as a member of the National Honor Society, a two-time scholar-athlete and making honor roll each semester of her high school career.
Â
"I chose Biola because of the combination of Christ-centered academics and athletics," said Jewett. "The volleyball team is obviously already very strong, and I am looking forward to carrying on that tradition."
Jewett will enter Biola as a freshman in the fall of 2015 when she will begin her first season in the red, black and white. She plans to major in communication sciences and disorders and hopes to enter a career as a speech therapist.
