SAN DIEGO --- BIola opened the spring portion of its 2011-12 schedule on Monday and Tuesday, placing 16th at the Point Loma Nazarene Super San Diego Championship which featured 105 players from 22 schools.
The Eagles shot a team total of 769 over the two rounds of the championship to finish 16th out of 19 full teams in the competition. NCAA Division I Cal Poly took top honors with NCAA Division II Grand Canyon University placing second. Biola was fourth out of five NAIA teams in the field.
Lauren Marlow led the way for the Eagles on the tough Riverwalk Golf Course, battling a course with fast greens and windy conditions on Tuesday. She shot 84 and 86 to place 39th overall in the field.
Jackie Mata fired a 96-95 to finished 81st.
Biola returns to action on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 27-28 at the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Classic at the Lake San Marcos Golf Course in San Marcos.
