Given Kalipinde has been named the GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging a double-double to lead the Eagles to a pair of upsets over NAIA Top 25 teams last week.
Kalipinde scored 16 points and added seven rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block to lead Biola to a 65-58 victory over No. 7-ranked Azusa Pacific University on Tuesday. He followed that up with a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double, adding four assists and two steals as BIola upset No. 16 Concordia on the road. It was Biola's second upset win over Concordia this season.
Kalipinde leads Biola in assists and steals, is second in rebounds and blocks and ranks third in scoring. He's reached double-figures in 11 games this season including three of Biola's last four games. He has three double-doubles on the season with his 14 rebounds on Tuesday matching a season-high.
Biola is 17-7 overall has won five-straight games including the last two over nationally-ranked teams to move with two games of first place in the GSAC at 7-5. The Eagles face another nationally-ranked team on Tuesday, traveling to Santa Barbara to face off against No. 9 Westmont College, which currently is alone in first place.
