COMPLETE RESULTS
LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The Biola University women's swim team was victorious in each event contested and easily defeated Mills College 139-54 in a dual meet at Lancing Pool on Saturday morning.
Freshmen Amber Kiel and Rachel Sirjord led the Eagles with first place finishes in both of their events. Kiel placed first in both the 200 Free (2:09.47) and the 100 back (1:06.11). Sirjord took top honors in the 100 Fly (1:02.32) and the 500 Free (5:31.36).
Also placing first in their respective events were Alison Seek (1650 - 19:38.24), Emily Mosbacher (50 Free - 26.22), Brittney Rosania (200 IM - 2:23.71), Sarah Warkentin (100 Free - 57.97), and April Smith (100 Breast - 1:11.32).
Alison Seek also joined the group of Biola swimmers who will be traveling traveling to St. Louis, Missouri, this March for the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships. Seek swam a qualifying time of 19:38.24 in the 1650 Free in order to secure her spot at nationals. That brings the total number of female Biola swimmers who will be attending the national championships to eleven.
Biola was also joined by their alumni who swam against the current swimmers. The Eagle men also swam time trial events where Arek O'Connell qualified for the national championships in the 50 Free (22.69).
The Eagles will return to the pool next Saturday (Feb. 7) at 1:00pm, hosting Azusa Pacific University in a women's meet. The Biola, APU dual meet will be the last meet before the Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference Championships which will be held in Long Beach, Calif. on February 19-21.
