KENOSHA, Wis. --- Biola's women's cross country team closed out another impressive season with a  12th place finish at the 2008 NAIA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

It was the second-straight trip to the NAIA Championships for the women's team and the second-straight Top 15 finish. The Eagles placed 11th last year, though their team time this year was over one minute faster.

Leading the squad was junior Kristin Schmidt who placed 32nd overall with a time of 18:26. Right behind her was sophomore Katie Thede who crossed the line in 18:49 for 51st place overall. Freshman Carissa Bowman was Biola's third finisher with a time of 18:58, good enough for 61st place overall. Fellow freshman Nychelle Fischetti crossed in 19:13 for 82nd while sophomore Sarah Brooks took home 129th with a time of 19:39.

Rounding out the group of seven for the Eagles were sophomore Kelsey Gasner and Erika Perez, who finished with times of 20:10 and 20:11, respectively.

Joining the ladies in Kenosha was Biola's David Ricksecker, who was running as an individual in the men's race. The freshman had a strong race and crossed with a time of 26:48 to take 186th place overall in the very tough field.

The GSAC was well represented in both races with Azusa Pacific taking top team honors, winning the women's race and placing second in the men's race.
