NORTH ALAMEDA, Calif. --- Biola's steady improvement on the links continued as the Eagles took eighth in a tough field at the Holy Names Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Chuck Corica Golf Course in North Alemeda.
Despite playing in a steady rainfall throughout the tournament, the Eagles were able to post some impressive scores. Overall, Biola shot a three-round total of 924, 72 strokes over par and just one shot behind seventh place William Jessup. The University of Victory (B.C.) took top honors edging out host Holy Names University.
Freshman Zach Hyer tied for 20th in the individual standing, firing an 8-over 221 (74-73-74) to lead the Eagles. Fellow freshman John Graham carded a 17-over 230 (77-75-78), finishing tied for 37th. Rounding out the contingent for Biola was Sam Howell with a 233, Greg Bodine at 241 and Andrew Johanson at 244.
The Eagles return to action on November 17-18 at the Biola University Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Monterey, Calif.
