LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Seven Biola University student-athletes have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during the fall sports season led by four from the Eagles' cross country program.
Nominated by each sport'shead coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify for the honor.
Leading the way during the fall sports season was the Biola cross country team, which had four student-athletes earn honors this year. They were Danielle Gomes, Kristin Schmidt, Danielle Simpson and Amanda Stephens.
Other award winners were Dani Aigaki and Meghan Warkentin from the Biola volleyball team and Derek Friehe from the Eagle's men's soccer team.
