BAM exists to encourage spiritual development and unity among all Biola athletes under Christ in order to establish an eternal--Christ-centered-- perspective and further equip players to have a godly influence on Biola's Campus, opposing teams, and the surrounding area.
|
BAM
is meant to be a platform for athletes to actively live out their faith and be molded into Christ’s image in and through their sport. As such, BAM's purpose and agenda is to provide athletes and coaches with opportunities to:
* Remain CENTERED
around Christ and His Word
Whether it is through the various speakers who are invited to share at BAM events, or during the men’s and women’s gender nights, our first goal is to understand and seek God’s good will for us as believers and athletes through His revealed Word. (the Bible).
* GLORIFY
Christ through communal worship
Fully aware that worship is much more than singing kumba-ya 15 min. a week, we desire to foster a habit of communal worship through music and service, where voices and hearts can join to exalt the name of Christ in word and deed.
* SHARE
our faith in Christ
...with each other and with the world. The proclaiming of Christ’s name and good-news of the cross is essential to the core of our lives as Biola athletes, being that we have and will continue to represent Biola to many secular schools and fans. This also applies to the Service Projects the huddles lead each semester, where there are many opportunities to live out a witness for Christ’s name.
* PRAY
This is a primary cornerstone of discipleship in Christ's image for every Christian and Christian-athlete: to come to God as Refuge and Provider, and also come alongside each other to re-orient their lives around Christ.
* SERVE
This is the practical outworking of our love for Christ and our neighbor. Throughout the year, different service projects of various kinds are led and opportunities provided for athletes to get involved in service to their teammates, Biola, or the community at large.

BAM
is determined to contribute to the unity of Biola athletes under Christ within each team and as a whole. BAM exists because faith, just like our sport, is not a “solo” effort, but is meant to flourish in a community that will uphold and strengthen one another through the power of the Holy Spirit.
[three]
BAM
exists to further equip athletes to have a positive influence, both now and in the future.
Through the many ways described above, and by the abundant grace of God, BAM exists that every Biola athlete be equipped to make a difference for Christ during his years at Biola and his years as a servant in the Lord’s eternal kingdom.

{DISCLAIMER: While BAM’s many aspects of community may overlap with certain church activities, it would be pertinent to clearly affirm here: We are not a church or meant to replace your local church by any means! We encourage athletes to get actively involved in a real, local church, where God has designed all Christians to be nurtured and experience things that can only happen in such a community. }
