Box Score REDDING, Calif. --- Biola made the most out of its longest bus trip of the season as
Daniel Chew scored a pair of goals to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 victory over Simpson University in a non-conference match in Redding on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles pick up their first road win of the season to move to 3-2-1 while dropping the Red Hawks to 1-7-0.
Chew got things going early for Biola with a goal just 15 minutes into the contest.
Joao Toscan played a great ball behind the Simpson defense which Chew ran onto, turned and fired it past the keeper and into the net. It was his sixth goal of the season already.
But he didn't stop there. Biola continued to dominate play through out the first half and much of the second, but could not find that illusive insurance goal until late. Chew struck again in the 81st minute on a nearly identical goal as the first.
Tony Montalvo played it past the defense this time and Chew beat the final defender and hammered it past the netminder to the low, near post.
Joshua Crichton made one save in net to earn his third victory of the season and his first collegiate shutout.
Biola closes out the road trip up north with a match against Menlo College on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles then return home to open GSAC play on Wednesday at The Master's College.
