Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola scored early and often, breaking a 34-year-old record with 15 goals in a 15-0 victory over Pacific Union College in a non-conference match on Tuesday night at Al Barbour Field.

The Eagles improve to 2-2-0 on the season and remain perfect at home with the victory while dropping the short-handed Pioneers to 0-4-0 on the season.

Biola's 15 goals broke the school record for goals in a game, a record that had stood since the 1978 season when the Eagles defeated California Lutheran University 14-0 in Thousand Oaks.

In addition, sophomore Sava Pantic tied an even older school record with six goals in the game including four-straight at one point in the set. The only other time a Biola player scored six goals in a match came in 1969 when Musa Dogonyaro scored six of Biola's nine goals in a 9-3 win over Pomona College. In addition, Pantic also assisted on three other goals to give him a school-record 15 points in the match.

The Eagles got the scoring going early in the game with a pair of quick goals by Carlos Ballesteros in the first four minutes of the contest. He tallied the first with a quick strike 90 seconds in, blasting home a shot from 10 yards out. He followed with a breakaway goal to make it 2-0 early on.

Daniel Chew scored the first of two goals in the game in the 15th minute off a great cross from John Hanscom which made it 3-0.

Stephen Tanquary scored a pair of goals in short order, netting the first in the 28th minute, finishing after freshman Aaren Lewis crossed from the left side after a nice run. Tanquary then broke away on his own three minutes later to add a second and make it 5-0.

Pantic recorded his first goal in the 32nd minute, receiving a pass from Tanquary and finishing easily into the right corner to make it 6-0. He followed that less than one minute later with another tally, finshing off a deflected shot off the keeper.

Alex Kincade scored the eighth goal with a breakaway shot to the left side in the 38th minute and Pantic closed out the half with his third goal setup by a Kincade run down the left side.

Pantic would score three-striaght gaols in the second half as he continually found himself open in the box for easy finishes. In the 57th minute, Pantic found a lose ball on a scrambled and hit it home, then did nearly the identical thing in the 73rd minute.

In the 78th minute, Pantic received a nice pass from Ballesteros and finished with an open shot from the penalty spot to make it a 12-0 game.

Julio Cuevas tacked on a goal from Hanscom in the 80th minute after a couple of missed clearance attempts by the Pioneers. Chew scored his second on an assist by Pantic while Marshall Deogracia scored his first collegiate goal to cap the scoring shortly thereafter.

Biola took a total of 44 shots in the game en route to the big win. Freshman goalkeepers Joshua Crichton and JT Addington each recorded a portion of the shutout with each playing 45 minutes.

The Eagles have now outscored its first two opponents 22-1 at home, though they have been outscored 4-2 in two road games.

Biola hits the road for its next five games, starting with a trip to Cal State San Marcos next Wednesday for a 4:00 pm match.
