LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Lacking the numbers of their local rival, Biola was unable to keep up with Azusa Pacific in a women's team dual meet on Saturday, falling 147-97 at the Splash Aquatics Center in La Mirada.
The Eagles were led by a pair of freshman.
Christine Tixier took home first place in a pair of events, winning the 400 individual medley in a time of 4:43.70, then touching first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.37. Fellow freshman
Megan Nerud cruised to a victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.99, winning the event by over three seconds.
Biola finished the day strong with a win in the 400 freestyle relay. The relay team of
Rachael Sirjord,
Amber Kiel,
Monica Hurt and Christine Tixier took home the victory in a time of 3:49.51, winning by over five seconds to cap the meet.
Biola returns tot he pool next week, hosting Grand Canyon University at Splash with the first race scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
