JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- Natasha Miller wrapped up an incredible individual performance by winning the NAIA's Most Valuable Performer Award as she earned All-American honors in five events to lead Biola to an eighth place finish among 39 teams on Saturday at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Miller shattered the NAIA's pentathlong record on Thursday to become Biola's first track and field individual title since 2001 and the first women's title since 1994. On Saturday, she partnered with Nychelle Fischetti, Jeanette Hill and Katie Thede as the Eagles' distance medley relay team placed second overall.
Earlier in the day, Miller took fourth overall in the 60m hurdles and the high jump and finished fifth in the triple jump. She helped score 22 of Biola's 28 points and became Biola's first five-time NAIA All-American in track and field.
But Miller wasn't the only Biola athlete to perform well this weekend. Erin Hobson earned All-America honors with a seventh place finish in the pole vault. The senior cleared 11 feet, 3 inches in her first attempt to record her best vault in over three years.
Freshman Carissa Bowman finished third overall in her heat of the 5,000 to earn a trip to the finals.
More information will be available on the meet shortly.
