Eagles to Return to NAIA Championships for Third-Straight Year

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the third consecutive year, the Biola University Women's Cross Country team has earned an at-large berth into the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships as the field was announced by the NAIA on Monday. The women's 5k national race will be held at Fort Vancouver Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., on Saturday, Nov. 21, beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The Eagles, who have been ranked in the NAIA Top 10 in the last 30 consecutive NAIA national rankings (dating back to August 22, 2007, enter into the 30th annual women's championships as the No. 4-ranked national squad.

Thirty-two teams, including 25 conference/independent/unaffiliated champions, six at-large bids and 117 individual qualifiers, will run in the women's 5K. Biola is one of three GSAC teams to qualify in the women's race. Defending NAIA Champion and 2009 GSAC champion Azusa Pacific enters as the No. 1 overall team. Point Loma Nazarene University, which finished third in the GSAC Championship race, also drew an at-large berth as the NAIA's No. 9-ranked team.
