AVONDALE, Ariz. --- Biola's Jennifer Yoo shot a one-under-par 71 and is currently in fifth place as the Eagles' women's golfers took the course for the first time in school history Monday at the Grand Canyon Invitational at the Coldwater Golf Club.

Yoo, a senior transfer from Cal State Northridge, had a strong first round, recording four birdies to hold on to fifth place in the field of 87 golfers. Yoo is playing as an individual in this tournament as the Eagles have just two women's golfers.

She is two shots behind Tina Bickford of Western New Mexico University, who fired a three-under 69. Three golfers are one shot back of the lead at two-under 70.

Biola's other golfer in the field was senior Stefani Washburn, who shot a 121 on the afternoon in the first collegiate round of her career.

The tournament wraps up with 18 holes on Tuesday (Sept. 25) at the same course.
